Hello girl's name!
It’s me, Santa Claus!
Quite unusual, isn't it? Normally, it’s children who write to Santa, asking for toys, books, or maybe even a bit of magic dust. But today, I thought I'd do something different and write a letter to you. After all, letters are meant to go both ways, and I think writing one can be just as delightful as receiving one, don’t you? So, I grabbed my quill pen and decided to tell you something.
I’ve got wonderful news about you! Your name shines brightly on the Nice List! And, written in small print, I read that you’ve helped out with cleaning a few times this year, giving your parents a well-deserved break. That’s just fantastic! Here at the North Pole, we value not just kindness, but big-heartedness, especially when it comes to helping family.
And speaking of helping, I also have a team of little helpers! You probably know who I'm talking about, right? Yes – my elves! I take care of them making sure they’re in good health, in great spirits, and never wearing patched-up pants. They’re always there for me, just like I’m always there for them. Sometimes, when I drift off in my favorite chair, I wake up to a warm blanket, a hot cup of cocoa, and a cozy fire – all thanks to them. What would I do without my wonderful elves?
Before I end this letter, I want to send you a touch of magic from Santa’s Village. Picture it as a sprinkle of stardust drifting from this page, filling your heart with joy and keeping sadness at bay throughout the year.
Warmest wishes!
Santa
Hello, girl's name,
It's me, Santa. I hope you're doing all right. I was delighted to read your letter, which, as the post stamp tells me, was sent all the way from England. A magic dove took it to the skies and flew over the sea, forests, and mountains. It finally reached the North Pole, sat on my windowsill, knocked on the glass with his bill and left the letter. The brave little dove was awarded a serving of the finest grains for his journey.
On the very same day, I put on my glasses, made a pot of winter tea and decided to write you a letter. I've heard many wonderful things about you! That your imagination is impressive and that you like drawing and dancing. That you care for animals, and you're very friendly. I could go on and on. I must admit, nothing makes me happier than knowing that children, who are so dear to me, are nice and good to others.
Thoughts like these are the reason why I love going to the gift factory. There, I invent new toys, paint wooden wagons with delight, pin hair on beautiful dolls, and tighten the wheels in toy cars. I like to sing under my breath when I do this. Sometimes, I even tap dance! Ho, ho. My elves keep shaking their heads, telling me I should watch my spine. Oh, but what can I do – I really do love my job!
I hope you also have something that brings you a lot of joy and comfort. Please accept my best wishes. I sprinkled this letter with a little bit of magical power so that when you're asleep, you can come over for tea with Mrs Claus and me whenever you feel like it. The reindeer and the elves will be very happy to see you!
Santa
Hello name!
It's me, Santa Claus. I hope you liked the gift you received last year. We worked very hard on it. Who's 'we', you might ask? My elves and I, of course! All presents come from our magic factory where we work hard every day – although sometimes, we use different spells to make the work a bit easier.
When the toys are ready, for instance, we use a spell to make sure everything is working as it's supposed to. We use a time-freezing spell to pause the production lines so that the elves can take a nap. And don't forget about my favourite one – the dinner spell! When the elves gather in the dining room and are extremely hungry, the Cook Elf casts a spell to create huge cauldrons full of delicious food. Instead of a plain soup, a two-course dinner with dessert lands on their tables.
You have to be careful with spells, though. One time, one of my mischievous elves sprinkled gold dust – which is what makes the reindeer able to run in the sky – all over the place. That was quite a show! I came to the factory to find out how work was going, and what did I see? All my elves floating, just under the ceiling – and, to make matters worse, they didn't know how to get down! Luckily, I learned how to make them land softly back on the ground. Since then, I have kept my gold dust locked away, just in case.
What about you? Do you like magic? Maybe you dream of flying? Well, these things only happen in fairy tales, my magic land and... in dreams! I hope yours are wonderful. Expect a lovely gift from our factory very soon.
Love,
Santa
Hello name,
I've heard such wonderful things about you – for example, I know you're very talented at drawing and dancing. You have a good heart and a great smile that lights up every room. How do I know? Well, sometimes, my elves check on children by using a magic telescope. That way, we can see if they deserve presents… or have to try a little harder. Speaking of good children, I have great news for you – because you've behaved so well this year, we can't wait to leave you a gift on Christmas Eve!
We all love riding in the sleigh as it glides across the sky and the reindeer tread high above the ground. Houses look like boxes from up above, trees look like little sticks, and everything is shrouded in a beautiful winter night. Gifts for nice children from all over the world are placed in a magic bottomless sack – no matter how many gifts you throw inside, there will always be space for more.
Although it might seem short, this night is made very long indeed by Christmas magic. After all, flying around the world is a true art, and if I decided to travel by car or train, it would probably take me a whole year. See – I couldn't do it without magic!
On that subject, allow me to leave a little magic power in this letter. Whenever you do a beautiful pirouette, my spell will bring smiles and joy to wipe away your troubles.
May you be well.
Love,
Santa
Dear name,
You're probably wondering who I am. Certainly, it's unusual to receive a letter nowadays – so please allow me to introduce myself. I'm Santa Claus. Yes, the one you've heard so much about. Perhaps, when you were much younger, you believed that I personally delivered gifts all around the world. Now that you're older, the world of magic and imagination might seem less real.
What about me, then? Am I real or not? If I'm not real, where did this letter come from? Well, this is quite complicated – but I'm sure you are old enough to understand. So…
When you close your eyes, you can imagine desert islands and see yourself sitting under palm trees, right? And when you sleep, you can dream that you're flying or swimming in the depths of the sea like a mermaid. When you play, you make up your own stories where you become a pirate or a fairy. This whole fantasy land of yours, although it is a little made-up, can seem even more real than a cup of tea on the table – all it takes is to believe really strongly.
In that world, along with those pirates, fairies and mermaids, there's also the frosty North with Santa's village and his gift factory. That's where I spend my time, drinking winter tea and writing letters with my magic pen.
Can you imagine that? Then, it can't be hard to imagine my beloved dog sitting next to me, Mrs Claus rocking in her chair, or the elves' loud singing through the wall. They're preparing a gift for you at this very moment.
You're a big girl, and it's completely normal to grow up – the older you get, the less you play or believe in fairy tales. I'm certainly not cross if my elves and I feel more and more imaginary to you… But if you ever feel like peeking into the land of imagination, that's where I'll be!
Love,
Santa
Dear girl’s name,
Finally, the time you've been waiting for this whole year has come – Christmas! A time of happiness, Christmas tree decorating, gingerbread baking, and searching for gifts under the tree. I have also been waiting impatiently for my big day. My heart gets warmer every time I bring happiness to children by giving them presents. However, before you check what's inside yours, I want to share some of my joy with you.
This present is a celebration of your good effort this year. I know how hard it is to be a good child sometimes, to help your parents in the house and do what they say. Not to mention doing your homework every day. You've achieved your goal despite all the obstacles. Bravo! The run-up to Christmas is chaotic here, all because of those gifts! Some time ago, someone spilt a little bit of magic stardust in the gift-wrapping hall. I wish you had seen what happened.
As I entered the hall to check how many presents were left to prepare, I saw something strange. Some elves were hovering above the floor! Some were trying to pull the flying ones down with ribbon lassos; the toys were all stuck to the ceiling, and paper started wrapping around gift boxes. There was a terrible mess. Luckily, I had with me an empty golden bag for the stardust. I opened it, and the dust politely returned to it in the blink of an eye. Such strange stories, but this kind of thing happens to us from time to time.
Merry Christmas!
Santa Claus
P.S. I hope you will love the gift I've prepared for you.
Dear her name,
The days are getting shorter, the nights longer… and colder. I trust you are wearing your hat and gloves, just like me. Everybody here has been running around like busy bees to make sure that all the children in the world receive their presents on time. I will prepare something very special for you this year. I look forward to revisiting your home and seeing what has changed.
My elves are hard workers. They always keep an ear to the ground, so they can discover what brings the most joy to children. One of the elves even came up with his own fantastic toy idea. He has been making toys from the snow! He has already created many: snow teddy bears, snow dolls, snow footballs, and other snow toys. Unfortunately, he isn't always so clever. One evening he put them near the fireplace and all the toys melted in the middle of the room. We were ankle-deep in water and had to pull up our trouser legs. Only the reindeer didn't seem to be bothered and were grateful for the puddle of indoor drinking water.
In Lapland, we have these kinds of adventures all the time. Every single day something new happens here, and if you are good, I will tell you a few more of our funny stories. A new bag of letters arrived as I wrote this to you, so I must read them now too and hear what the world's children dream of this Christmas. I shall see you soon!
Merry Christmas!
Dear her name
As I sit here at my desk, another snowstorm rages outside my window. It is slowly getting dark, and in the distance, I can see a group of happy elves returning home on their dog sleds, with the barking of their huskies and jingling of their sleigh bells blending with the sound of the wind. The closer it gets to Christmas, the harder the elves must work. Fortunately, we all help each other, and nobody is left alone with their duties.
We sometimes add delicious treats to the presents just to make life sweeter. They are the responsibility of one of our elves – his name is Anastasius. He travels the world and seeks out new recipes for sweet treats, like yellow cake with chocolate frosting, gingerbread with jam, lollipops of thousands of flavours, Christmas-tree-shaped chocolate, and crunchy wafers with peanut cream. He has his own special recipe book, which is already 1000 pages thick! Every year, after he visits a new corner of the world, he adds a few pages to the book. Anastasius has been around for quite some time. Even I don't know how old he is! All I know is that he can entertain us with his stories for hours, even if we have heard them before. They still make us smile every single time he tells them. However, listening to stories is no match for eating the results. It annoys Anastasius when we rush to the kitchen before the story is over, but deep in his heart, he's happy that his treats bring us so much joy.
A little bird told me that you have behaved incredibly well this year, which makes me very happy. One of our elves mentioned your name so many times that it sounds like they must be preparing something very special for you!
Merry Christmas!
Dear her name,
You must be a little bit surprised to receive a letter from me. I took a break from my mince pies to write to you personally. My elves have told me a lot of good things about you. It makes me so glad to hear that you have been doing your best to behave well this year.
Did you know that some years ago, the elves created a special diary, The Diary of Good Deeds? Every time a child, anywhere in the world, performs a good deed, a note is made next to their name, and it stays there forever. When we begin our preparations for Christmas, the elves and I sit in front of the fire to read the diary together and decide which presents each child should get from our workshop. All the gifts are gathered in a special room with cushioned walls. We have thousands of toys in there. Every single toy is looked after by a designated elf, who knows exactly which present is for which child.
Of course, even we make mistakes from time to time. Sometimes we send a slightly different present to what was asked for, but our creations are so marvellous that they always make children smile. Every gift from Lapland is special in its own way.
I seem to remember seeing one or two packages with your name attached in the gift room, so I have a good feeling that you'll be very happy this year. I can't tell you what is inside the wrapping because the elf in charge of your gifts keeps everything secret. Be prepared for something amazing!
Merry Christmas!
Dear her name,
I take great joy in writing this letter to you, my dear. I wanted to tell you how much work it is to put on Christmas. The day is fast approaching, and I keep wondering if I will be ready for my journey. The elves are working at full speed to prepare everything for the big day.
So, in order to make sure everything goes well on the day, I decided to go for a trial ride with my reindeer to see if they are fully prepared for our trip. I took out our special Christmas harness, ensured all the reindeer were in the right order, took a few bottles of the magic formula, and pushed the sleigh into a meadow near the house. Rudolph was giggling and boasting in front of the other reindeer as usual, but when I shouted: "Let's go!" he and his team focused and heaved the sleigh with their characteristic determination. First, we went straight ahead into the woods. We travelled past several villages and passed a group of lumberjacks. Their eyes were wide open in disbelief and awe. I was calling out "Ho, ho, ho" as always! Those who recovered themselves even replied to me in the same manner, which made Rudolph laugh. He teased me later by making silly impressions.
I used the magic flying formula as soon as we left the woods, and a few seconds later, we lifted high into the air, leaving the snow-covered treetops far below us. By then, all the reindeer were shouting, "Ho, ho, ho!" or as close to it as a reindeer can get. We returned home just before the sunset, and the sky went dark. By then, I knew that this year's journey would go well. You see, practice makes perfect, and I know our journey will be perfect this year. I encourage you to keep practising being good. Listen to your parents and be kind to the people you meet, and you will get a reward from Santa.
We'll visit you too, so be patient. Christmas is a truly magical time.
Merry Christmas!
Hello boy's name!
Do you know who's writing to you? It’s Santa Claus! You know, the bearded guy in the red hat? Yep, that's me! Although, hold on a second. About that “grandpa” thing – I'm not so sure. Okay, I’ve been around for quite a few years, but I still play with toys way too much to be called your typical grandpa.
Now, don’t say you’re surprised! Why does Santa play with toys, you ask? The answer is simple. When new blocks, wooden models, or kids' sports gear come out of Santa’s Workshop, they need to be carefully checked and tested. Imagine if I handed out a broken present on Christmas – oh, there would be tears and complaints all over!
One time I was testing a puzzle set called "The Fastest Cars in the World." I was having fun, just like I did when I was a child, until suddenly, one puzzle piece flew out of the box and started running across the floor! I bent down to grab it, feeling a twinge in my back, I called out to it, but that little piece had no intention of returning to its friends. Finally, when it darted under the bed, I managed to catch the rascal. And guess what? It turned out to be from a completely different set! It was pink with polka dots and part of Fairy Aurora’s dress. Definitely didn’t belong in “The Fastest Cars in the World.”
So, what happened to that piece? Naturally, I took care of it. I found the right set and put it back with the other “Fairy Aurora” pieces. As for the missing car puzzle piece, we found it too – in the first aid kit! Can you believe it?
And that’s what I do every day, my dear friend. I build towers from blocks, fly remote-controlled airplanes, and press buttons on children’s keyboards. And I must admit – it’s the best job in the world!
Sending you my warmest wishes!
Yours truly,
Santa
Dear boy's name,
It's me, Santa Claus. You might be surprised to hear from me. Yes, yes, I know. Hardly anyone expects a letter from me. A gift – yes, but a letter? It's time to tell you my secret. I love writing letters, but my eyes are not what they used to be. I only managed to get a pair of perfect glasses today. So, without further ado, I got down to work.
Today, the Elves told me that you definitely deserve your dream gift – you're a nice, polite and very joyful boy. I am delighted to hear such good news, especially about you being joyful. Here, at the North Pole, we have long nights and long winters. Sometimes, you have to try really hard not to get a little sad.
Recently, we had a little adventure. We hired a new Elf at the factory, fresh out of the tailoring school. He was immediately given the responsible task of sewing buttons on doll clothes. However, after a few days, he became so downhearted that it was difficult to get him back on his feet. Neither singing nor dancing, not even our delicious pudding, could cheer him up. Finally, when we ran out of ideas, he sighed and told us his secret. In his home village, he used to play football every Sunday, which he missed dearly. We knew exactly what to do – on the very same day, we played the first football match in the history of Santa's Village. The elf's eyes lit up, and I haven't seen him sad since then. Today he's known as Elf the Footballer, and the Sunday matches have become our tradition.
I hope you also have your ways of dealing with sadness. Maybe it's sports, maybe it's something else? Or maybe my letter brought you some joy?
Love,
Santa
Dear name,
How are you? From what I hear, you're doing very well indeed! The elves tell me you're a wonderful son and never hesitate to help others. We're almost done making your present, and if the elves are telling the truth, I think you'll more than deserve it.
All the gifts you get for Christmas are made in my factory. Here, the elves are working hard, my lovely dog is wandering around, and I am somewhere in the middle of it all. Sometimes I check on my little helpers just to see how they're doing. Oh, I can't imagine what would happen if no one was here to keep watch! Sometimes, the elves have really crazy ideas – I've seen stuffed dinosaurs in the factory that sang princess songs instead of roaring! Thankfully, there's always a way to fix mistakes. It's not easy to keep things running smoothly, but it's certainly great fun.
Sometimes, I remember what it was like when there was no Santa's village. I was much younger, of course, and my beard wasn't as pearly white back then. I'd often thought that the world would be more beautiful if every child, at least once a year, could have something they dreamed about. And, thanks to magic and hard work, I built a factory that produces amazing gifts today.
I can't wait for Christmas Eve when I'll fly to every corner of the world to deliver gifts (and visit you, I promise!) When I finally get home, I'll close the factory for a while and send the elves on a well-deserved tropical vacation. After all, they deserve a dream come true too!
Love,
Santa
Hi boy's name!
Here's wishing you the best, straight from the far and frozen North! Work is in full swing in our factory, creating new dolls and teddy bears. I cannot wait to finally sit on my magic sleigh and go on my journey around the world!
Maybe you don't know, but all these presents are made thanks to my elves. Each of them has a unique name and important tasks to perform. For example, Scruffy the Elf. He visits the whole world to check if children clean their rooms. He used to have the same problem, but he decided to change his bad habits after he had taken part in a fantastic adventure in the Forest of Lost Things. Scruffy had gone there to find his lost screw. If you're good, one day I will tell you the story.
Oh, and Fussy the Elf! He's responsible for making sure that children eat their vegetables and don't peck at their food. It used to be a great weakness of Fussy. He tried to avoid eating vegetables at every cost and was always wriggling in his chair. One day, when he was on a trip to the Forest of Lost Things, he was so hungry that he finally lost all his energy. That day, he finally understood that nothing remedies a lack of energy like a bowl of hot soup.
Do you know that Scruffy the Elf and Fussy the Elf visit you very often? To make them even happier, try to eat everything on your plate and keep your room clean and tidy. Have a truly wonderful winter, and see you soon!
Merry Christmas!
Dear his name,
I am sure you are counting down the days to Christmas, just like me. I get so busy this time of year that the days go so quickly. Before I know it, it will be Christmas, and I will be flying my sleigh around the world.
I receive a lot of letters from children. I tend to lie by the fireplace and eat chocolate while I read them. You might wonder how I manage to make time for the mountain of gifts, the mischievous elves, and the energetic reindeer. Let me tell you what the Christmas season really looks like up here in Lapland. Each morning, my personal assistant, Horace the Elf, brings me a large box of letters sent by children and adults from all over the world (yes, adults write to me, too!). We read through them all very carefully and make notes on various gift ideas. Sometimes the letters are actually adverts for new models of sleighs. Well, in my opinion, my trusty old sleigh is still working perfectly well, both on snow and in the air, so we will not be replacing it anytime soon.
After lunch, I always visit my reindeer and the other animals that live with us. Sometimes we visit nearby villages, if the weather is nice, and tell each other funny stories on our way there. When the evening comes, the elves meet me by the fireplace and talk about everything that has happened to us throughout the day. My elves are very chatty. We usually sit around together until all the embers in the fireplace have burnt out, discussing which gift is going to which child. I can imagine your big smile when you find out what a wonderful gift I have for you this year. I hope you like it!
Merry Christmas!
Dear his name
It has been a while since I last saw you, and now you are a year older! I have heard you are doing your best to be a good boy. Keep it up, and you will get a nice gift from me.
Up here, the snow has been falling for months. It already comes up to our waist, so I wear the same warm woollen hat I got when I was a boy, probably the same age as you are now. I am a lot bigger than I was then, so it looks quite funny sitting on top of my head. Well, it puts a smile on the elves when they see it.
I remember when I wanted to be a footballer. I would run around with my ball all day long in the kitchen and the hallway. And from time to time, I would hit a clay pot or some china plates. Now that was fun. My granny always told me to be good, but when there was a ball involved, I did not want to listen.
I loved scoring goals, but I wasn't very good at it. The ball always landed on the roof of our stable. Then one day, late in the evening, a little gnome knocked on my window. When I let him in out of the cold, he looked up at me and said in a stern voice, 'You have to be good from now on and listen to your granny.' My eyes went wide as I listened. 'Every time you tidy up after yourself, I will write a little tick next to your name on the Nice List.' Then he jumped out through the window as quickly as he came. From that day on, I was a good boy. Just imagine my surprise when I found my dream present under the Christmas tree – a new football and a kit. I ran to the local playground's football pitch as quickly as possible to try out the new ball. I kicked it as hard as my little feet could and scored a perfect goal.
I notice four tick marks next to your name so far. A few more would be good. As I look out my window and through the workshop doors, I can see something pretty special waiting for you in the gift pile. If you are a good boy, it will make its way to you in time for Christmas.
Santa
Dear his name
I am sure you know that I live in a land of eternal winter. So, the first part of my journey to deliver presents isn't easy. The reindeer must get me through snowstorms, snowbanks and snowdrifts before I can reach all the children waiting to catch a glimpse of my sleigh. You must be curious about what I am bringing for you this year. I promise it is something very special that will bring you great joy.
All year long, I have heard good things about you. I know that you have studied hard, listened to your parents and helped them through the year. I understand; being good is not that easy. I bet you have already found that out for yourself. But remember that true bravery means overcoming your own weaknesses. If it is hard at first, be persistent and don't hesitate to ask for help. It makes me glad that you get on well with your friends. I always found that it is better to have one good friend than ten bad ones.
I received a truly beautiful letter from you this year. You wrote to me about your dream presents so I really hope that you will like the gift my elves have prepared for you. But before you unwrap it, remember that it's not the presents that take you into the world of fantasy and magic, but your own imagination! Keep that in mind.
I wish you a fantastically fun holiday and many moments of happiness. Please keep trying to be a good and kind boy, and I'll see what I can do for you next year too.
Merry Christmas!
Dear his name,
It has now been a year since I last came to your home. How time flies! As you would expect from a good Santa, I have been very busy preparing for my journey this Christmas. I will ride my sleigh for thousands of miles and deliver presents to all the well-behaved children around the world.
I don't want to alarm you, but I nearly wasn't going to make it this year! You see, some time ago, one of my reindeer went missing. Can you guess which one? Yes, that's right. It was Rudolph!
Every day I feed my antlered friends in their enclosure. But one day last week, as I was walking over to their home, I saw that the gate was slightly ajar. I counted up all the reindeer except one – Rudolph. So, I called all the elves together, and we began a search for my mischievous friend. It lasted all through the night and all through the day. We had nearly given up hope when, searching the woods and knee-deep in the snow, I finally noticed his sleek silhouette on a nearby hill. It was my little Rudolph! I ran up to him and said, 'Where have you been!? We've all been looking for you!' My old friend replied that he had been waiting for the first star of the evening to appear in the sky, just as it will on Christmas Eve, as a signal to begin our journey. So, in the end, we all returned home safely. The elves carried on packing up the presents, and I practised my 'Ho-ho-ho'.
When the first star does appear again on 24th December, I will set out in my sleigh, pulled by my brave reindeer. I will visit children just like you, all around the world, and give them the presents they have been dreaming of.
Now, the gift that I have prepared for you is a reward for your good behaviour this year! And I hope it will encourage you to be a good boy next year too.
Last of all, I wish you lots of fun and joy this year and in the year to come.
Merry Christmas!
Dear name,
It's me, Santa Claus. I woke up today in a great mood. The sky was bright, the sun was shining, and my dear Elves were playing merrily in the snow. I decided to start such a beautiful morning by having some delicious tea and looking into my magic telescope.
What is a magic telescope, you might ask? It's a great device which helps me check who should get presents this year. The telescope is extremely powerful and can show me places that are very, very far away from my home. Thanks to the telescope, I can see up close whether children from England or any other corner of the world are nice, happy, and have everything they need.
Just imagine, when I was looking through the whole world, from the mountains to the seas, from the jungles to the deserts, I stumbled upon your house. And who was in it? You! You, your loved ones, your room, your toys. And then I saw your pre-school, your cloakroom, your teachers. Your playground. Oh, it brings joy to my heart to know you're already a pre-schooler! I also learned that you're a great singer, a terrific dancer and an amazing painter. And that you always brush your teeth at bedtime. This is very important!
A magical time is approaching – the time of gifts, winter and Christmas. Therefore, in this letter, I would like to wish you a wonderful time at your pre-school and home. I also hope you'll like this year's present that my elves and I prepared for you.
Love,
Dear name,
I've heard some wonderful news! Is it true that you brush your teeth in the evening and dress yourself in the morning, all by yourself? That you even sleep in your own bed all night long? The elves have been so impressed with your behaviour, especially how you like reading books and how great you are at drawing. You have no idea how proud that makes me! I can't believe how grown up you are.
I know there's still time until Christmas, but I'm already preparing presents for you and other children. It's not an easy task! The elves and I work day and night to arrange gifts on the shelves, and we have to be very careful not to mess them up. Oof! Yesterday, I almost assigned a porcelain doll to a boy who wanted a stuffed unicorn! Can you imagine how upset he would have been? To ensure I don't make a mistake, please draw the gift you'd like, write "Santa Claus" on it, and send it to me. I can't wait to see what you're dreaming of.
For now, I thought I'd send you some North Pole magic along with this letter. Ready? Just close your eyes and repeat after me: "Yak diri dandi dicti day". Let's try together: "Yak diri dandi dicti day" – very good! That's a spell to help you chase away bad moods and grumpy mornings. If you want, you can teach your Mum and Dad… Doing it right will brighten their faces and help them get up on the right side of the bed.
I hope you have a fantastic time in pre-school. You have a beautiful year, full of fun and friendship, ahead of you!
Love,
Dear name,
My elves have told me how grown up you are! Is it true that you already get dressed all by yourself? That you always remember to brush your teeth? You have no idea how happy I am to hear that, and your parents must be so proud.
Have you ever seen my sleigh on Christmas Eve? Keep an eye out for it this year, as we will definitely be flying over your house. I hope the sky is clear enough for you to see me glide across the sky. My reindeer are already preparing for our winter trip, practising their flying!
To fly, you need a little bit of North Pole magic hidden in the snow. Luckily, we've got plenty. But, just like with life, school and home, everything takes practice. One of my reindeer, Ruby, landed in a huge snowdrift during yesterday's rehearsal. He was up to his ears in snow, the poor thing! Of course, there's plenty of time to get it right. I just know Ruby will fly perfectly when the big night comes.
I hope your days are happy and bright. Help Mum and Dad, and if you make a mistake, remember – practice makes perfect. Do keep your fingers crossed for Ruby… if he falls into a big snowdrift in December with so many presents, it will be hard to dig him out!
Love,
Dear girl's name,
It's me, Santa Claus. Just this morning, I was packing gifts when suddenly, one of them caught my attention. It had your name on it. In the blink of an eye, I remembered all the presents I had prepared for you over the years, and it brought a tear to my eye. Are you really that grown already? And you're an actual schoolgirl?
As you probably know, we live pretty far away from each other. However, I regularly receive news from all over the world about children dear to my heart. I have my magic telescope, and my elves help me with that. Thanks to them, I know how old everybody is and who deserves a wonderful gift. You have no idea how happy I was to learn that you already go to school, and what's more, that you study hard and that you are so good at using the computer, reading and writing. School is a great thing. Of course, it can be a drag at times.
Sometimes we're tired of it, or we get annoyed. However, each lesson brings us closer to knowledge, making our life better and our world clearer and more understandable, even without a magic telescope. You can take my word for it. Thanks to your brilliant brain, you can enjoy reading books, taking on new challenges and solving puzzles.
It is with great joy that I am sending you a well-deserved present like I do every year. Hmm, I'm wondering... how many gifts have you received from me since your first birthday? 7? 8? Ho, ho! I think I have to take a look into my century-old Maths textbook to calculate this. I wonder how dusty it is!
Love,
Dear name,
My elves told me yesterday that you are a real brainbox. Is that true? I've heard you have a backpack, pencil case, notebooks and books; they say you're a wonderful student and that you always do your homework. I can't believe you're such a big girl already – with a beautiful school year full of adventure, friendship and fun ahead of you!
I was a student myself once, a very long time ago... I wrote in my notebook using a pen that I had to dip in ink all the time! Can you imagine? Instead of hoodies and t-shirts, we had school uniforms, and instead of colourful, glittery backpacks with unicorn patterns, we carried simple blue briefcases. As for computers? Oh, my! To this day, computers are still more of a mystery to me than magic sleighs and telescopes.
After all, thanks to a magic telescope, I could see your house, your school, and even your entire class today. I love how you keep your pencil case neat and your crayons sharpened. I'm sure your parents and teachers are proud of you. Remember to help others, listen to grown-ups and always do your homework. That way, you'll be on top of the list for a great gift from me and my elves!
To give you a helping hand, I'm sending you an invisible spell to bring you lots of good grades and interesting classes. Just close your eyes for a second, and... that's it! It started working already and should last the whole year!
Love,
Hello, boy's name,
How are you? If my elves informed me correctly, you're already a student, aren't you? I've heard you are great at reading and writing. Is it true? I'm really happy because this means you can write letters to me all by yourself. Moreover, you can address an envelope with the words "Santa Claus, the North Pole". I will read this letter with even more pleasure than before. I can promise you that. And I will smile from ear to ear.
Oh, the letters! After so many years, I still love writing them, and I love receiving them even more. It all started with a short message I wrote on a piece of paper saying "I love you!", which I gave to my mum. I was 6 years old, and my handwriting was still quite messy and hard to read, but I didn't mind. I remember how touched my mum was and how tightly she hugged me. And you? Do you write messages to your loved ones? Simple ones without stamps or addresses? If you don't, give it a try. There's nothing better than a short note with lots of love!
Tonight is a lovely night at the North Pole. The snow is up to my knees, the stars lit up the sky, and the reindeer are joyfully kicking their hooves. Everyone's already feeling festive. The toy factory is working at full speed, and the elves have been singing Christmas carols for several days now. I hope that you, too, are experiencing this atmosphere!
During this wonderful time, I wish you a lot of smiles, good luck with your studies and a great time at school. Remember that even the more difficult moments bring you closer to the outstanding achievement of being able to write. To write letters and so much more!
Dear name,
I've been in such a good mood today, all because I heard how wonderfully you're doing at school! Way to go! The elves told me you get up early in the morning, eat your breakfast, get dressed, and that your backpack is packed so well, you never miss anything at school. I'm so proud of you.
Being a student is a very serious business. Soon, you will be able to read and write all by yourself and even point to different places on the map – like England, your town, or the North Pole, home of... Can you guess? Ha ha – me and my elves, of course! I know school can be hard work. When it feels difficult, just remember that every new skill you learn will make you smarter and better at understanding the world. I know the next letter you write me will be written without anyone's help, and I can't wait to read it. I wonder, what will you ask for?
When I was much younger and didn't have a beard, I went to school just like you. Oh, how I loved those years. In addition to writing and reading, I had classes in reindeer care, spell-casting and using magic telescopes. Indeed, it was a very special school – in fact, it's where I learnt to be Santa Claus! I can fly up into the air, go around the world in my sleigh and visit every nice child on Earth. Soon, I'll be seeing you on this year's magical trip.
Just remember to study hard, do your homework, help others and always keep your pencils sharpened. I know you can do it!
Love,
Dear his name,
It's been some time since we saw each other last. Back when you used to believe in me. That is until you had your doubts, and then I suppose someone told you not to believe in me anymore. I bet you felt disappointed when that happened. Don't worry. I hear it all the time from people your age. But deep down, you still hoped I was real, right? Well, I have some good news for you. Right now, you are reading a letter from me, the one and only Santa Claus.
You'll remember that my job is to keep tabs on how good everyone has been each year. Tell me, how often have you looked at your phone today? Are you studying? Watching cat videos? Or are you checking Facebook for the 40th time? Don't worry. Whatever you think you are missing out on always looks far better in pictures than in reality. Follow my advice and remember: school is important, so make sure you get enough sleep. Go to bed early so you can get up early. Plan your day the night before so you can get up and go without rushing. Show the people you care about that you care about them. And finally, help your parents out at home. They take care of you; you can take care of them too. I take notes throughout the year and appreciate it when you work hard.
My dear boy, my elves and I have spent a lot of time choosing a proper gift for you. There is just one last thing to remember. Always say 'thank you' for your gifts, and please leave out some carrots for Rudolph. I'm trying to stop him from eating so many mince pies. I'll see you soon!
Merry Christmas!

Dear name,
I bet you're surprised to get this letter. No, this isn't a long-lost letter from your childhood. I wrote it fairly recently, and I guess you received it as planned. Now, imagine I was going through old photo albums and remembering the good old times. The children I would bring gifts to several years ago had already grown, and I was curious to find out how they were doing.
In the evening, when I closed the gift factory for the day, we launched the magic telescope together with Mrs Claus without the elves knowing. The elves usually use it to check whether kids are nice and deserve presents, but this time, we directed the magic eye of the telescope to find... you. After a while, we saw some interesting facts about your life – I hope you won't hold it against us.
We were so moved to see how you've grown, how you embrace life, how well you're doing, and how you don't give up. However, the most exciting thing we saw with Mrs Claus was that special person by your side. The magic telescope showed us how that person looks at you, talks about you, and smiles thinking about you. It's incredible how much she loves you and wants the best for you. You are the best thing that's ever happened to her, an excellent partner, closest friend and a beloved man. Her favourite person with whom she always has fun and lives the dream.
This sight brought a smile to Mrs Claus's face and mine. After all these years spent together, we know perfectly well that it's the only thing that really matters.
I wish you all the best.
Dear name,
It's me, Santa Claus. As you probably know, I'm usually busy managing my Christmas village, my present factory and receiving tons of letters. Add to that my flying practice, minor sleigh repairs, accounting and other tedious matters. It takes a lot of work to be able to finally warm my bones by the fireplace at night and talk to my beloved wife.
You see, one day, when I was rocking in my chair and remembering the good old times with Mrs Claus, we thought it would be fun to find out what was going on with the children who had long grown out of believing in fairy tales about Santa Claus. I opened my spell book to break from the fantasy world into the adult world. Then, I called my quickest elves and asked them to tell me what they saw in their magic telescope. The spell worked, and after a while, we saw what you were up to.
To tell you the truth, it made me smile to discover how similar we are. That, despite that rush and huge workload, there is somebody in your life who makes it exciting and meaningful. Somebody who wants the best for you, like I do for my wife, for whom the night-time talks and closeness are a special gift for every Christmas. Somebody for whom you are the greatest friend, the most beautiful woman, the wisest partner. I'm happy knowing that someone loves you as much as I love Mrs Claus for so many years. Take it from me, Santa, with a very long beard – this is what happy life is about.
And this is what I wish for you with all my heart.
Dear his name,
My elves are very reliable. Nothing gets past them. We have been watching your behaviour this year. It's not too bad, but I am afraid a few lumps of coal will be necessary.
This year we paid close attention to your house chores, for which you could try a bit harder. Don't worry; you can do it. Shopping for groceries is not the end of the world; your family will appreciate it. Cooking is not as complicated as it sounds, and washing dishes can be a meditative task. I know because I have a workshop full of elves and a stable full of reindeer to tidy up after. It's good to clear your brain once a day, at least. So, you have three choices. First is that some of my elves come and live with you to do the washing up. But they eat a lot more than you think. The second option is waiting for someone else to do it and getting four more lumps of coal next year. Third, you turn over a new leaf and become the washing-up king!
I am sure you are thinking, 'Wait, but I also did some good deeds!' This is true, I saw that, and you might get a reward. I am sure you expect lots of presents. If that's the case, my advice to you is to do the shopping right now. No need to buy any coal. You have plenty coming your way, free of charge.
Merry Christmas!
Dear his name,
Upon seeing my stamp affixed to this envelope, I suppose you must have wondered why someone like me would remember you. Well, let me elucidate. Have you ever heard of anyone forgetting somebody who owes them money? It's a similar deal with us, except by money, I mean good deeds. Ah, but you might think that no envelope I have for you could ever hold a lump of coal, even a small one. Well, you are right, because it is not needed this year. You have been a good boy!
Let me guess. You are delighted with how wonderful you are. Going back in your memory and recalling all those moments when you were a good man. Very well, but please remember that a clear conscience is the first sign of memory loss.
As one of my elves, Eric, has told me, you've made great progress this year, especially in the kitchen department. Now, you are the boss of the kitchen. Who would have thought that cooking your own meals could be so much fun? You boil water for your tea; you even slice your bread for sandwiches. Even cleaning is no longer a problem since you have discovered that the plates used to make sandwiches do not need to be rewashed.
I have to go now because the reindeer are waiting for their evening training session with the new sleigh. But I hope to carry on this Christmas repartee again soon.
Merry Christmas! Ho, ho!
Dear her name,
I have been watching you carefully this year. So have my elves. They've been scribbling down notes to let me know what you've been up to. Now, though on the whole, you have behaved well, there are just a few things we need to discuss. I'm afraid you will be getting a lump of coal this year.
In my letters to children, I always tell them to be tidy, help their parents, and be kind to others. When I write to adults, I like to leave a bit of freedom of interpretation. But in your case, let me be totally clear. Please try harder to be tidy, help your parents, and be kind to others.
I embrace the fact that shopping is a great way to spend your time, but please be aware that there are other things in life too. Your friends are wonderful people. You might try talking to them without glancing at your phone every minute. They want to see you without it.
There is one more thing – I want you to be nicer to yourself. Your friends and loved ones are there to help you so you can talk to them about your problems. You would do the same for them! Unfortunately, it is impossible to read your mind. So hoping for a clairvoyant will not do any good.
Please consider everything I have said for next year, and I will put something special under the Christmas tree for you. This year a small lump of coal is a must, but please expect an extra something special as well!
Merry Christmas!
Dear her name,
Every year I think about the previous winter, and I have to admit that my reindeer Rudolph was right when he said people could change their ways in just 12 months. Even here, in the Far North, the word has got out that you have made a lot of progress, and you deserve some recognition. My closest friends and I are all sitting here by the fire: Rudolph, his nephew Casper, our bookkeeper Maurice the elf, my little helpers Anastasius and Boris, and me, of course! We are all very pleased with you.
Don't worry. Sooner or later, your special someone will come to appreciate your efforts too. You must be wondering when exactly that 'sooner or later' will be. That's a good question… Well, at least there is always Santa to notice these things.
I will definitely remember your development and progress while I prepare the list of gifts for the grown-ups. The elves who have been watching you have reported to me that you have been very grown up on several occasions. I'm impressed and proud of you. I know that a few people around here have also noticed, and I am sure that this year they will gladly make you feel like a kid again. Ho, ho!
Merry Christmas!
Dear [his name}
As I have finally managed to get your address, I decided to write to you straight away. You must admit that it has been a while since you were that little boy waiting for me at the door and listening for my footsteps. Do you remember your face when I appeared at your house for the first time? Oh, that was such a wonderful smile! No? Well, you are much older now, and you have probably forgotten that it’s me who brings the presents.
I recently received a list from your boss of all your achievements at work. I have pretty good relationships with bosses; they help me keep tabs on all the kids who have grown up forgetting me. You thought that nobody appreciated your efforts. You could not have been more wrong! I even wondered if I should hire you to help me out in Lapland. I talked to your boss, but in the end, we decided that even a jug of honey and free skiing lessons would not be enough to get you here.
When you were younger, your expectations were much lower. The elves are working overtime to finish packing your parcels and will soon be on their way. I really cannot understand all this Christmas fever. Should it not be a time of leisure for you all? I’m the one doing all the work!
Anyway, I am sure that Christmas will be very special this year.
Merry Christmas!
Dear her name,
I imagine you are quite surprised to see a letter from me. You must be thinking, 'Santa remembers me? I'm the one that leaves Christmas preparations to the last minute.' You're right, but this year will be completely different. I've written letters to your colleagues and your family to tell them to help you out.
Did you know that not long ago, I saw you during one of my practice sleigh rides through the sky? I was just about to leave when I suddenly caught sight of you through your workplace window. I saw that you worked swiftly and diligently, but also that you stayed till the late hours to help your colleagues. You have no idea how happy that made me. I was even ready to slow down and knock on your window to say hello, but then your boss saw me. He waved at me from behind his desk and then returned to reading Harry Potter. I think you deserve a reward this Christmas, but you also need to take some time for yourself. Working hard is good, but it can develop into working too much.
I hope that after reading my letter, you will finally find some time for yourself. As soon as I find my best elf-chef, a true master of Christmas cuisine, I will send her to help you. In the meantime, your friends and family will stand in for her. All your Christmas preparations will be done in no time.
Merry Christmas!
Dear his name,
What a wonderful Christmas that was! Now I can finally get some rest and enjoy the sun. Rudolph is with me right now on the Hawaiian sands, nearly as white as snow. We have been sunbathing each day from dawn till dusk and coming up with whacky new toy ideas for next Christmas. Rudolph spends his time running around on the beach and surprising the tourists. The elves are trying to build snowballs out of the sand, but it’s not going well. In the evenings, we drink coconut water and talk deep into the night about our favourite sleigh rides.
As you already know, I visited thousands of homes to give presents to all the well-behaved children. I hope you liked the ones that I brought for you this year. The elves tried very hard to ensure that everything was in order. We were happy to hear from your parents that you had a big smile on your face when you opened them. Please remember to be good next year, and we will visit you next Christmas too!
See you in a year!
